at last
88 year old sister Dottie sat in the hospital chair
Lavender pjs, yellow socks and white sneakers,
her gray wispy hair pulled back --
Sans wig -
"I think I'm going to dye my hair your color, Millie
That's real nice. It's a gold color…”
86, almost 87 year old sister Millie sat--properly prim
in the chair by the window---
brown skirt, tan nylons and brown loafers,
She smiled, nodded.
“It's washes out” she said.
"People think we're twins,” Dottie continued,
“We may as well be now.”
